More than half of first time takers fail this exam

The Transport Manager CPC exam requires many hours of study, and is particularly challenging because of the amount of material to assign to memory. Not only this, but most exam takers study the material while being engaged in a full time job and juggling a family life as well. That can be enough to overwhelm anyone!

Why passing the first time is important

Anyone going to the exam head first without appropriate study is in for a surprise. The standards of The Chartered Institute of Logistcs (CILT) or The Skills and Education Group Awards (SEGA) are very high, making the entry into Transport Management a serious feat. Taking the exam a second time would mean, a loss of £150 for registration, an additional delay of at least 6 weeks to take the exam and wait for results, loss of hiring opportunities in that time and, may I add, the stress of having to face the exam again. More important than the registration fee is the very long delay to obtain your certification, and time spent waiting is, by far, the greatest loss.

Practice is key

A surprise I had when I first took my exam was that practice material is virtually non-existent online. OCR stopped organizing exams for the Transport Manager CPC qualification in 2021 and removed all the practice exercises from the internet. Essentially, the only option available for additional practice is to buy an expensive course from an accredited training partner company which can put you behind several hundread quid. This cost is on top of the already expensive course you purchased so that you can register for the exam. Even if you were lucky enough to have purchased a course with reasonable practice material, it may still be too little to give you enough confidence for the exam. Plenty of practice is paramount to your success.

Why the Multiple Choice exam is challenging

As you should already be aware, you have to pass both examinations to get Transport Manager CPC certification. Importantly, the Case Study exam has plenty of free online resources such as past papers and mock exams. The same is not true for the Multiple Choice exam. Furthermore, the high threshold of 70% is not to be taken lightly, as questions are specifically designed to mislead you, for instance, choosing only 2 answers when 3 were correct. Getting the necessary experience with the exam format and the possible pitfalls will ensure your success.

What you can do about it

By now, it should be abundantly clear that serious preparation is the only way to pass this exam. Motivated by the current lack of practice material I have designed a complete set of practice multiple choice questions to help you pass the Transport Manager CPC Multiple Choice exam with confidence.
